Es la fecha elegida por Microsoft para que sus millones de usuarios emigren aSkype, que reemplazará al popular chat
Microsoft confirmó a sus más de 100 millones de usuarios del Messenger que el servicio cerrará el 15 de marzo. En esa fecha, los internautas deberán emigrar a Skype, el servicio VoIP que compró en mayo de 2011 por US$ 8.500 millones.
El servicio de mensajería más popular en su momento sólo seguirá activo en China, ya que en ese país Skype opera a través del operador local llamado TOM.
Microsoft había confirmado el fin del Messenger el 6 de noviembre pasado. "Tenemos grandes noticias que compartir contigo. Skype y Messenger se unen", había comunicado la firma en su blog oficial.
Así convalidó el rumor que apuntaba que tenía intención de eliminar Windows Live Messenger y reemplazarlo por Skype.
Los usuarios de Messenger podrán disfrutar este año de mensajería instantánea, video y llamadas a fijos y móviles, todo desde el mismo lugar. El programa contará con un soporte más amplio para todo tipo de dispositivos, incluyendo tabletas iPad y Android.
